Fan attempts selfie with Philippe Coutinho moments after Europa League final

Liverpool’s players were bitterly disappointed following their 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final - as you’d expect.

The dejection was written all over their faces, but one fan who managed to get onto the pitch seconds after the full-time whistle obviously didn’t care.

He walked up to Philippe Coutinho and wanted a selfie with the crestfallen Brazil international, who clearly wasn’t in the mood for a post-match photograph. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).

Coutinho, in fairness to him, briefly looked at the phone and then turned away to shake the hand of a Sevilla player.

The fan in question was lucky Coutinho didn’t kick off.

Liverpool beaten 3-1 by Sevilla

Liverpool took the lead in Basel courtesy of Daniel Sturridge’s magnificent first-half opener, but Jurgen Klopp’s men conceded early in the second half when Kevin Gameiro tapped home.

Coke then scored twice in six minutes to earn Sevilla a third successive Europa League title.
