Will CM Punk ever return to the WWE? It's a legitimate question that needs to be asked and delved into.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion shocked fans everywhere when he walked out of the company with no warning following the 2014 Royal Rumble. It was even more of a shock when he revealed he had signed a deal to fight in the UFC, despite having little-to-no training in any form of MMA.
Unsurprisingly, the 37-year-old has a history of injury problems thanks to his 15-year pro wrestling career that have caused a series of setbacks in his training, which have put Punk's UFC future in doubt. So, with things not looking good, could Punk ever find himself back in the WWE?

On the face of it, with how Punk left the company, how they gave him his termination papers on the day of his wedding, and his feelings towards the company it seems like Punk would rather die than set foot back in a WWE building.
However, we have said that about various other superstars who had feuds with the WWE in the past. Many of whom have eventually made a comeback when the WWE and its money came calling.

That may well be the case with Punk. While he was paid handsomely during his first stint in the WWE, he can't still be on those millions now that he is a non-fighting UFC star.
Punk was supposed to make his UFC debut last month against Mickey Gall at the UFC 197 event. Instead, he spent it recovering and rehabbing from a disc surgery he had to have in February to correct a problem in his back.
It's not a career-ending problem but it is yet another setback. Punk says he still expects to have a fight in 2016, but that would be coming more than two years after he actually signed with the UFC and he hasn't even spent all of those two years training.
Then there are the rumours going around that Punk isn't actually that good, apparently losing every single one of the test fights he has had in Royce Gracie's gym.
If he wants to keep going then he will. That's just who CM Punk is. But UFC fighters, no matter how high profile, are not kept on by the company if they keep losing.
Which brings us back to the WWE. What does Punk do when he's not in the UFC? Guest writing comic books isn't really going to pay the bills.
If Punk were to return to the WWE it would be huge. He still has a massive fanbase that want him to return, and others would also be overjoyed to see him. In a world where the Dudley Boyz can get a massive pop when they return, Punk's would blow the roof off an arena.
That's why I see him returning. Because it makes so much sense for him too.
