The La Liga season ended in disappointment for Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid as Barcelona retained the La Liga title.
Luis Enrique's side edged out Los Blancos by just a point in Spain's elite division. Zinedine Zidane's side fought heroically to chase down Barca, who at one stage looked way out of sight, but they ultimately failed to overhaul their greatest rivals.
Ronaldo and co. can soften the blow, of course, when they take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final. A victory for Real will see them win Europe's elite prize for the 11th time in their history.

Perhaps, then, that's why Ronaldo wasn't feeling too down following Real's failure to triumph in La Liga.
It has now emerged, according to Spanish newspaper Sport, that the former Manchester United forward sent Barca star Neymar a Whatsapp message after the conclusion of the Spanish campaign.
Ronaldo, who has infamously only won Spain's most prestigious honour once since joining the Bernabeu outfit, was reportedly polite and affectionate when messaging Neymar. It appears, then, that the Portuguese superstar congratulated his rival.
You have to admire Ronaldo for the gesture, but it's safe to say that he will be hoping to make amends in La Liga next season. Now, though, he will be firmly focused on European success. If Real manage to overcome Atletico in the Champions League final, perhaps Neymar will return the favour...
Neymar, much like Ronaldo, will be hoping to finish the season on a high. In pursuit of a domestic double, Barca are set to play Sevilla in the Copa del Rey on Sunday.
Suarez hails Neymar
The Brazil star's teammate Luis Suarez has paid tribute to him ahead of the game, claiming that he wants to 'keep improving'.
“In the changing room he is very calm, but also a joker. He is a happy person, who enjoys his football and life. He is full of joy and is much adored by his teammate. He gets on with everybody,” said the 29-year-old, as per Barca's official website.
“He has become totally different to when he arrived in Barcelona,” Suarez continued, in reference to Neymar. This is because “he is not content just with the day to day, he continues to train in the evening which shows he wants to keep improving”.
