Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is leading a passionate push to sign Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze, according to Goal.com.
The report indicates that Liverpool believe they have done all they possibly can to persuade the Germany international to join them ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
Gotze has endured a tricky period in Germany and looks set to depart the Bavarians in the summer transfer window.

The report suggests, however, that Gotze is yet to make a commitment on his future, so it appears that it's far from certain as to whether he will join the ranks on Merseyside in the near future.
Ultimately, Gotze could yet decide to snub the Reds, but it seems that Klopp and co. are determined to bring him to the club.
Liverpool fighting for Gotze
“Liverpool have done absolutely everything in their power to make Gotze happen, throwing the kitchen sink at it,” a source close to negotiations told Goal.com.
“If the deal doesn’t happen, it won’t be because of a lack of effort from them, but because the player decided to go elsewhere.
"They won't get beat in terms of a bid or a package as they're prepared to do whatever it takes to land him. He is taking a long time over giving them an answer though.”
Gotze would most definitely represent a significant coup for the Anfield outfit, who will be desperate to make an impact on the Premier League title race next season.
After Europa League despair at the hands of Sevilla on Wednesday night, the Reds will be without European football for the 2016/17 campaign, but that could stand them in good stead in their pursuit of domestic success.
Naturally, the addition of Gotze would come as a welcome boost for all involved, but it appears that a great deal of work may be required behind the scenes to complete the deal.
