It finally looks set to happen: Jose Mourinho should become the next manager of Manchester United imminently.
The former Chelsea boss, who departed Stamford Bridge back in December, is widely expected to replace Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford dugout.
Experienced Dutchman Van Gaal may well have helped the Red Devils secure FA Cup silverware this term, but he failed in his bid to ensure the club of a place in next season's Champions League competition.

Mourinho, then, could begin a new era at Old Trafford and it's likely that he will look to change the dynamic of the side.
Indeed, The Guardian have named the six players the self-proclaimed 'Special One' is reportedly targeting for the Red Devils.

The report claims that Mourinho could swoop for André Gomes, João Mário, John Stones, Álvaro Morata, Mauro Icardi and Ezequiel Garay.
In fact, The Guardian states that Mourinho and co. could splash as much as £150 million this summer in an attempt to revamp the United side.
It's unlikely, of course, that Mourinho will land all of the aforementioned players, but it's not exactly surprising that he seems set to make a number of additions.
Portuguese duo Gomes and Mário would certainly represent fine coups for the club, but they won't come cheap. The report states that 22-year-old Gomes, who currently plays for Valencia, would cost around £40m, while Sporting's Mário would cost upwards of £27m.
Then there's England international Stones, who Mourinho attempted to sign for Chelsea last summer. The Everton man may well have endured a topsy-turvy campaign at Goodison Park, but it's safe to say that he has a bright future ahead of him. It remains to be seen, however, as to whether the Toffees would be willing to sell the talented youngster.
Strikers Morata and Icardi would certainly improve things for the Red Devils in attack. United, despite having exciting youngster Marcos Rashford at their disposal, are clearly in need of a top-class striker addition.
Argentina defender Garay, meanwhile, played under Mourinho at Real Madrid, but it's not entirely certain as to whether the incoming United boss would look to sign him and Stones in the same summer.
One thing is for sure, everything could change at Old Trafford ahead of the 2016/17 season.
