Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Jose Mourinho is a good fit for Manchester, predicting that he will bring them success.

The former Chelsea boss, who was axed in west London back in December, is expected to replace Louis van Gaal in the Old Trafford dugout imminently.

Experienced coach Van Gaal has, of course, endured a tricky campaign at Old Trafford. The Dutchman may well have triumphed in the FA Cup on Saturday, but he failed to lead the club to a top-four finish in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have a fine tradition of promoting young players into the first team, so the self-proclaimed 'Special One' may well have to change his ways.

Lineker tweets

Match of the Day host - and former England striker Gary Lineker - has also had his say on the matter, insisting that young players will get their chance to shine under Mourinho if they are good enough.

In fact, as you can see in the tweet below, Lineker went as far as comparing Mourinho to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Here's the tweet from Lineker:

But things will surely change at Old Trafford. The current crop of players at Manchester United just haven't been good enough over the course of the last couple of years and change is clearly required.

While certain players may well move on, United fans will be hoping to see a number of top class additions arrive before the start of the 2016/17 campaign.
