There has been a long list of candidates linked with the vacant managerial role at Goodison Park since the departure of Roberto Martinez, and one of the names at the top of the list is Frank de Boer.
De Boer announced his decision to leave his position at Ajax less than 24 hours before Martinez was relieved of his duties, following a less-than-impressive Premier League campaign.
The Everton board of directors should look no further as the Dutchman is the ideal candidate for the job. De Boer is a born winner. During his career, he played for Ajax and Barcelona, where he won a plethora of trophies along with over 100 caps for Holland.

He was, without a shadow of a doubt, a world-class defender and a recognisable name in world football, which will be a boost considering the money new investor Farhad Moshiri is looking to pump into the squad. To attract world class players, you need a recognisable manager in today's transfer market.
In regards to his managerial record, he started with the Ajax youth teams, working his way up to manage the first team. Surely this is something for Moshiri and Bill Kenwright to take note of as the academy at Everton is considered one of the best in the country, and De Boer is known for bringing the youngsters through to the first team.
He was also assistant manager for Holland when they reached the World Cup final in 2010. During his six seasons at the helm of Ajax, he led his team to Eredivisie four times.
Many of Everton's lacklustre performances this season have been due to defensive frailties which De Boer would instantly be looking to sort out, although he likes to play from the back, he will ensure the defence is solid and well organised.
De Boer is still only 46, so he is a relevantly young manager, which must give him an advantage over the ageing Manuel Pellegrini, and with Ronald Koeman set to sign an improved deal at Southampton, De Boer looks like the ideal fit for Everton.
