Bayley hints at main roster debut following SmackDown announcement

Published 8 Comments

Bayley has been at the top of NXT for a long time, having only recently dropped the NXT Women’s title to Asuka in April at NXT Takeover.

Since then, Bayley has made a comeback, however, her most recent run has resulted in defeats to superstars such as Nia Jax.

Her loss to Asuka led many fans to speculate that a main roster debut might be coming for her, especially considering all of her friends: Sasha Banks, Charlotte & Becky Lynch, affectionately labelled as the four horsewomen in tribute to Ric Flair’s famous ‘Four Horsemen’ stable, have already successfully made their main roster debuts.

NXT Roster increase

Further evidence supporting a main roster debut came from the WWE announcing a large influx of new competitors debuting in NXT, suggesting that Bayley might make the move considering that the roster was increasing.

However, in light of all of this, no main roster debut has occurred, and some reports have even suggested that WWE might be purposefully holding back superstars such as Bayley & Finn Balor, in order to push sales for NXT events.

Bayley’s Twitter message

Bayley tweeted the following message regarding the announcement of SmackDown airing live on Tuesdays on the USA network:

This tweet has led spectators to consider that Bayley might be teasing a main roster debut in light of the changes to SmackDown’s TV Schedule.

Brand Split

If we consider the upcoming brand split that will be occurring as well, it is likely that NXT superstars might also be in contention to be picked and placed onto the new ‘SmackDown brand’, meaning that Bayley as well as other exciting superstars such as, Samoa Joe & Austin Aries, might also make the jump to the main roster.

Four Horsewomen stable

Charlotte stated in a promo in the build up to WrestleMania 32 that she could not believe she had considered Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks as worthy of being named ‘Horsewomen’ in tribute to her father’s famous male stable of the same name.

In light of this, we might see a fatal-four-way showdown for the Women’s Championship if Bayley makes the main roster debut soon. This could be a very exciting match to add to the SummerSlam match card, and would be an interesting way of determining who the best female competitor is out of the four women.
