Rio Ferdinand has revealed himself to be quite the Real Madrid fan or, to be more specific, a Cristiano Ronaldo fan.
The pair apparently shared a close relationship during their Manchester United days and that bond seems to be closer than ever.
The retired defender was working as a pundit for BT Sport during last night's Champions League tie between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and was lucky enough to be situated close to where the penalty shootout took place.

As the drama unfolded from 12-yards, Ferdinand could not contain his excitement. Atletico Madrid's Juanfran missed the fourth penalty and Ferdinand immediately knew what it meant; Ronaldo could win it for Real.
As soon as Juanfran's shot hit the post, the Manchester United legend erupted in celebration, pointing to the camera while shouting "What did I say!? It's made for Ronnie".
Once Ronaldo had scored, Ferdinand exclaimed that Ronaldo had "deserved it" even though by all accounts the 31-year-old was poor on the night.
But Ferdinand expanded on that claim in the same post, writing: "When you are as committed to working as hard as Cristiano does to do what he does year in year out at the highest level you deserve some fortune/luck.
"He didn't have his finest 120mins in a #realmadrid shirt but he got the fortune to be the man with the opportunity to score the winning penalty.
"I was always told as a kid - you work hard, you get lucky! "Lucky is to get the opportunity to take the winning pen, after that it's down to nerve, technique & composure. Game won!"
