During Monday Night Raw this week, the WWE made an announcement for their upcoming video game; WWE 2k17.
In the trailer for the game - which had long be teased by the company on their Twitter account - police cars travelled in formation to a Hatch in the middle of nowhere. They then stamped to a beat towards the Hatch, to which the doors blew open.
As the dust cleared, Goldberg emerged from the so-called Hatch, revealing that those who pre-order the upcoming WWE 2K17 video game will be able to play as the former WCW star. The game is expected to be released on October 25, according to PWInsider, via NoDQ.

Many fans thought the strange pictures and videos posted by the WWE on their social media made fans think that a huge return would be coming to Monday Night Raw this week on Memorial Day, alongside the long anticipated return of John Cena.
However, it turned out to be an announcement for their upcoming video game, with Goldberg being a preorder bonus. The question is, will he be making a return to the WWE ring like Sting did when he was the pre-order bonus two years ago.

When Goldberg was travelling in the back of a police car after he emerged from the hatch, in the window reflection, viewers could see a sign which said Suplex City - a reference to Brock Lesnar - to which the former World Champion smiled at.
While this says nothing at all about Goldberg's future in the WWE, it does give fans a little bit of hope because of the history between the two wrestlers.
The former WCW Champion's last match in the WWE was against The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 20 back in March 2004. In fact, Goldberg is one of the last few wrestlers to have actually defeated Lesnar one-on-one via pinfall in the ring, only behind John Cena and Triple H.
This match, if you remember correctly, was badly received by the WWE Universe due to the fact they knew both superstars would be leaving the company immediately after the match had finished. A return by Goldberg could be his chance to correct the wrong and leave on the right terms. Who better to do it against than the man he defeated over ten years earlier, The Beast.
Goldberg hasn't had the best of relationships with the WWE in the past, but the news of him being the pre-order bonus for the upcoming video game is a step in the right direction. Maybe he will make a return like The Ultimate Warrior did when he was the pre-order bonus for WWE 2k14, and like Sting was with WWE 2k15. Whether or not this means a return to the ring is still unclear, but fans can hope.
