Defensive veteran Kolo Toure, 35, might not be playing for Liverpool next season due to his contract expiring.
However, thanks to a massive resurgence of form recently, some Liverpool fans believe he should be offered a new contract at Anfield.
Toure always seemed to pull up with a cramp 60 minutes into a game, and many football fans in general just thought it was time for him hang up the boots. Even the absolute defensive blunder against West Bromwich Albion in 2014, which saw Toure give the ball directly to Victor Anichebe, and within a matter of seconds, score, ultimately costing Liverpool two points.

However, despite the defensive mishaps he seems to do, along with the cramping, Toure has almost defied his age and performed like he was in his 20's again. His performance against Sevilla in the Europa League final proved it.
Toure put in a solid performance against the La Liga side and was all over the pitch throughout the 90 minutes, doing his best to keep Kevin Gameiro quiet.

This wasn't the only wonder he did, later on the game Toure caught up with Gameiro, who is known for having pace, and managed to clear the ball away, despite the striker running through one-on-one with Simon Mignolet.
In the changing rooms, Toure is loved. He possesses an amazing character, as Brendan Rodgers would say, and that is vital to have for dressing room morale and harmony. If you take someone like that out of the squad, the rest could be a bit more miserable than usual.
With age, comes great responsibility. Being the oldest member of the squad makes him almost like a father figure, and if he truly is the 'nicest guy in football', that means that he is extremely approachable, which is key for young players these days.
If Toure is not offered a new contract, young players won't have a lot of other older members to look up to. Sure, James Milner is there and he is apparently a nice guy too, but Toure, even on the pitch, has that laughable factor to him. In a good way, of course.
Due to reasons both on and off the pitch, Toure should be given a new contract. It's vital to have someone who is well-respected in the changing rooms as well as the pitch.
