Whilst the idea of bringing the brand split back to WWE has received a mostly positive reception, there are several things the company must do to ensure it runs smoothly.
In order for the brand split to be as successful as is expected, Vince McMahon and his staff must make sure the respective rosters of SmackDown and Raw are kept entirely separate.
Although this may seem obvious, the consequences should the company not adhere to such measures would be hugely detrimental.

Making the decision as to which of the two rosters every WWE Superstar will end up on has been the most talked-about topic of late amongst the entire WWE Universe.
Whether it be fans giving their opinion or WWE wrestlers stating which roster they would prefer, when the confirmation comes of who is on which side there will certainly still be several differing views.
The most obvious option for WWE to choose would be to produce a fair balance across both rosters by having an equal amount of leading WWE superstars, mid-carders and new talent either from the NXT developmental brand or not.
Whilst this method seems the most simple yet effective, those in charge of WWE are no strangers to making unwelcome changes, especially in the eyes of the fans.
With this in mind, it would come as little surprise should the company split up a current tag team between two rosters in order to generate a memorable rivalry, or place too many leading names on one roster.
Although the odd switch between rosters for a single superstar providing it is then permanent would not be too costly, making several regular changes between the two sides would make no sense at all.
Allowing such wrestlers to do as is possible now by switching between different shows on several occasions would surely make every WWE fan question why a brand split was ever brought into place.
Instead, WWE should keep the Raw roster and SmackDown roster completely separate and ensure that any switch made is rare and takes place with good reason.
Ultimately, the company has a huge opportunity for a fresh start by bringing back the brand split and can undoubtedly regain the confidence of its fans by making it a success.
WWE has an incredible amount of talent across its roster and when combined with the superstars waiting in the wings at NXT, must prioritise utilising the ability of its wrestlers across the two separate rosters in order to meet the fans' brand split expectations.
