The WWE brand extension is just over a month and a half away from happening, as SmackDown will be broadcasted out live on Tuesday nights from July 19 instead of their usual Thursday night spot.
With the promise that both Raw and Smackdown will have exclusive rosters, a WWE Draft is on the horizon, as all superstars on the roster will have to be split between the two brands. Fans and critics alike have already started discussing which superstars could be going to which brand. Some superstars themselves have even voiced their opinion on which brand they would rather represent.
One of the biggest rumors out there on this topic is that Roman Reigns will be the main star on one brand while John Cena will be the headline act on the other, keeping arguably the two biggest names in the WWE today apart. However, there are plenty of other main event caliber wrestlers out there that need to be discussed as well.

One of those stars is Reigns’ opponent at Money in the Bank in his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, Seth Rollins. He’s still one of the most beloved superstars in the WWE today despite being a heel and having missed over six months of action due to injury.
Former WWE commentator Taz gave his thoughts about the upcoming WWE brand extension during an interview with Sports Illustrated. Here, he said he would like to see Reigns and Rollins separated, rather than being on the same brand. He believes they should be the “hood ornaments” for each show.
He said: “Roman Reigns has the ability to work, he definitely has the awareness now and popularity. I don’t know if he has the promo skills yet, and he needs to keep working on that, but they’ve put a lot of money behind him–millions–and they can’t give up on him and they won’t.
“They’ll build around Roman Reigns on one show, and they’re going to build around Seth Rollins. I do not think Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will be on Raw together or Smackdown together. I would change one of their looks a little bit and some branding around the guys, but those are the two guys they’re going to run with.”
The Big Dog and The Architect are arguably the future of the WWE so it would be wise for the company to follow what Taz has said and keep them on separate brands to allow them both to flourish at the top at the same time.
If the rumor of there being two WWE World Heavyweight Championships is true, Reigns could hold one title on one brand while Rollins holds the other title on the other brand, allowing for not only both superstars to reach their full potential without getting in the other one’s way, but for WWE to build themselves a strong future too.
