Last month at WWE Payback, Enzo Amore suffered a nasty concussion during his number one contenders match for the Tag Team Championship against The Vaudevillians.
He went to the hospital to get evaluated and he was released on that very same night, but as a precaution due to the company having many concussion problems in the past, Amore was kept on the sidelines by the WWE until he made his return on May 23.
During that time, Amore’s tag team partner, Big Cass, was given a mini-push as a singles competitor to see how well he would do. The WWE were very happy with the results, as Cass kept the crowd on his side while feuding with The Dudley Boyz despite not having his tag team partner with him.

Cass did such a good job that according to NoDQ: “WWE officials are said to be very high on Big Cass with his look and his in-ring work.”
The report also said: “Many within the company are looking at Cass as not just a tag team player but also as a future singles star. Cass has been booked the way he has as a way to protect him in case they want to pull the trigger on a singles run. It will be interesting to see what happens with Enzo and Cass in the WWE Draft.”
Cass certainly does have the look to be a top singles star in the WWE – one that Vince McMahon has always adored as well in his champions, big and tall - and despite Amore being the main vocal piece of the tag team, Cass was able to carry the team while he was on the sidelines with his own promo skills.
However, many fans will be hoping that Amore and Cass are not split up between Raw and SmackDown once the WWE Draft comes around sometime within the next six weeks. They're a dynamic duo that has only just come up to the main roster, so they should achieve some goals as a tag team first before being split up.
Cass will certainly be a singles star one day. He has the look and the promo skills already to go for one of the minor championships, but he needs just a little bit more work before he goes for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He’ll definitely get there one day though.
For the time being, just give Cass and Amore a run with the tag team titles before separating them. Both of them are already over with the crowd, so neither one of them should have a problem being a singles star in the company when the time is right.
