The summer transfer window will shortly be officially open, and with it, brings an unexpected trail of twists and turns with some of the biggest players in world football swapping clubs across the globe.
One player who should be looking for pastures new is Bayern Munich's Mario Gotze.
The £29 million signing from Borussia Dortmund has been unable to force his way through a strong Bayern Munich squad and is in desperate need of revitalising his fading career.

Lack of Minutes at Bayern
Gotze made just 14 appearances in the 2015/16 Bundesliga campaign and just four in the Champions League. A player of Gotze's class needs regular football to flourish, and as it stands, he's not getting any.
Gotze played a massive role in Dortmund's successive league title triumphs in 2012 and 2013. The German international flourished under Jurgen Klopp, and after reaching the final of the Champions League, Gotze soon established himself as one of the brightest prospects in world football, before eventually signing for Bayern Munich in 2013.
With 51 caps for Germany, Gotze is a national team regular, scoring the historical winner in the final of the 2014 World Cup. At club level though, Gotze has been overlooked time and again by Pep Guardiola, hampering his progress in the long run.
Reaching his Peak
At 24, Gotze is soon approaching the peak of his career and needs to switch clubs if he is to ever fulfill his undeniable potential.
Several clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool have been linked with the German midfielder in recent months and both moves warrant merit.
A return to Dortmund could see Gotze rediscover his form, while reuniting with Klopp at Liverpool could be the start of something special for both parties.
With about a year left on his current contract, with no clear indication of a renewal, it seems that Bayern undervalue Gotze, and perhaps this would be the ideal time for him to leave the Bavarian giants.
One thing is for sure, if Gotze does decide to leave, he will have no shortage of suitors to choose from.
