Safe to say Manchester United fans had the utmost expectations of Jose Mourinho upon his arrival at the Theatre of Dreams last month.
Despite claiming their first piece of silverware - the FA Cup - in three years last term, the Red Devils are a shadow of their former selves and require immediate change if they’re to re-establish themselves as England’s elite side.
Hiring Mourinho is certainly a step in the right direction following failed managerial spells for David Moyes and Louis van Gaal, both of whom shown the exit door in unceremonious fashion.

It’s widely expected that big change will now ensue at Old Trafford under the Portuguese maverick, especially so given the sheer amount of comings and goings reportedly due to take place in the coming months.
One of such arrivals could be Villarreal centre-back Eric Bailly - and there’s been a promising update.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, per Manchester Evening News, the La Liga outfit have commented on United’s interest in their 22-year-old defender and insist a deal will be struck if the price is right.
Villarreal official Fernando Roig Negueroles said: “There is a team that is very interested and if the three parties agree there will be no problems.
“If the player wants to leave and Manchester want to pay, we will reach an agreement.”
A fee of around £27.6 million has reportedly been agreed with final details now standing in the way of Bailly completing a move to the Premier League.
Villarreal will net £20 million in profit should the deal be finalised after luring the centre-half from Espanyol just 18 months ago.
Elsewhere, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will soon arrive at the Theatre of Dreams by claiming a “big announcement” will be made on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old striker, who played a part in Sweden’s 3-0 win over Wales on Sunday, is out of a contract next month when his Paris Saint-Germain deal expires.
He’s a subject of interest across Europe - namely the Premier League - but a move to United seems the most likely.
He told Swedish television, per the Independent: “There will be a big announcement on June 7. It will be this summer’s big bomb.
“It feels good, feels better than good. A lot will happen with this news, so hopefully you’ll all enjoy.”
Reporters asked Ibrahimovic to reveal what his big announcement would involve, but he said simply: “Come and see on the 7th.”
