And it appears that he's intent on securing a move to Leicester City in the pursuit of playing Champions League football.
Claudio Ranieri's side secured a place in next year's competition after claiming the Premier League title, but it remains to be seen as to whether Deeney will be involved in their next adventure.
Watford want Deeney stay
It most definitely appears that Watford are focused on keeping their talisman at the club as he has four years remaining on his current contract.
The saga certainly looks set to continue for some time to come and it will be interesting to see if Leicester are able to get their man.
Following the news that Watford have rejected a huge bid from Leicester for their captain, social media has duly taken off.
Fans on Twitter have brutally attacked the potential deal, claiming that it's not only shocking that Leicester have made a £20m bid, it's also ridiculous that Watford have failed to accept their advances.

There's every chance, of course, that Leicester are attempting to sign Deeney as a replacement for Jamie Vardy. The England international, who is currently gearing up for Euro 2016, is yet to make a decision on his long-term future after Arsenal triggered his £22 million release clause.
Vardy, 29, produced a remarkable campaign for Leicester City last season, netting 24 Premier League goals for the club. The Foxes have made a counter-offer to the forward, but it appears that he's going to wait until after the European Championships to make a decision on his next step in the game.
Arsenal fans will be hopeful that the deal can still get over the line, but it appears that Vardy's loyalty to the Foxes is making things hard for him at this stage.
