Not least when that tournament is being staged in their home country.

According to the Mirror, Benzema is facing a five-year prison sentence over accusations he encouraged Valbuena to pay a ransom to retrieve a sex tape of himself and his girlfriend.
However, Benzema believes his exclusion from the national team is due to the ethnicity.
He told Marca, per the Mirror, that France manager Didier Deschamps “bowed to pressure from a racist French party”, referencing France's far-right National Front.
In Benzema’s absence, Olivier Giroud started up front in the Euro 2016 opener against Romania.
The Arsenal man had a couple of chances to open the scoring but missed the target both times.
