Eric Dier scored a free-kick to help England earn a 1-1 draw in their Euro 2016 opener against Russia at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille.
The Tottenham midfielder confidently stepped up and curled the ball past Russia’s goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, who had denied Wayne Rooney minutes earlier with an excellent stop.
Akinfeev, however, could do little about Dier’s effort. It flew past him in a flash. (Scroll down this page to watch Dier’s goal).

It was almost a deserved three points for England, who outclassed their opponents for most of the match, but a late equaliser by Vasili Berezutski spoiled the night for Roy Hodgson's side.
The Three Lions now sit joint-second in Group B, alongside Russia, after Wales beat Slovakia earlier on Saturday afternoon.
