Game of Thrones favourite Hafthor Bjornsson has poked fun at Cristiano Ronaldo, following the Real Madrid star’s petty reaction to Portugal’s 1-1 draw with Iceland.
The 31-year-old attracted widespread criticism online after hitting out at the Euro 2016 underdogs for their choice of tactics against Fernando Santos’ side.
“Iceland didn’t try anything,” he told reporters after the game.

“They were just defend, defend, defend and playing on the counterattack. It was a lucky night for them.”
In a lengthy tirade against Iceland, which came at the end of a frustrating night for Ronaldo, the three-time Champions League winner had few kind words for Portugal’s opposition, in a reaction many have labelled graceless in the extreme.
Bjornsson, who is from Iceland, and best known for his endeavours as a professional strongman as well as his turn as The Mountain in Game of Thrones, had previously taken to Instagram to showcase his excitement at the prospect of seeing his nation compete at the Championship.
And, much to the amusement of football fans and Game of Thrones lovers alike, Ronaldo’s comments did not go unnoticed either with the 27-year-old trolling the Portuguese star over his reaction in another hilarious online post.
Taking a knowing swipe at Ronaldo’s fame and masculinity, the post may attract some disapproving looks in certain quarters but it is clear to most that it is all meant in good fun.
Best of all, though Ronaldo has never been short of things to say, something tells us he may refrain from reacting to Bjornsson’s latest jibe.
Because no one messes with The Mountain. Not even The Hound.
