When Los Matadores were taken off WWE TV a few months ago so that they could once again be repackaged, the WWE Universe hoped that their new gimmick would be much better than their old one.
Sadly Primo and Epico have once again drawn the short straw as they have become The Shining Stars, something that their cousin and brother Carlito would fit into perfectly, but it is not such a perfect fit for the former bull fighters.
Their Raw debut was thought to have been so underwhelming that the duo have failed to wrestle on the show since and have instead been relegated to vignettes once again which could be a hint that Vince McMahon is already set to pull the plug.

THE SHINING STARS FAILED TO SHINE?
Primo and Epico are former WWE Tag Team Champions and have even defended the Championships at WrestleMania, the cousins have the pedigree to be one of the greatest teams in WWE, but when they are given gimmicks that make no sense then they shouldn't be the ones taking the fall.
Los Matadores were rarely used correctly during their entire two year run, they were either backing up El Torito in his small person matches or making up numbers in WWE's tag team fatal four ways.
They were never considered to be real contenders for the Tag Team Championships and it was thought that the repackage would finally give them what they needed but instead they have once again become the butt of every joke in the Tag Team division.

WWE AT FAULT?
There is a big difference between the way that The Shining Stars made their debut and the way that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson announced their arrival.
One team found victims and took aim whilst the other had a squash match against two unknown superstars in front of a dead crowd.
If WWE had any hopes for The Shining Stars then they should have allowed them to debut in a match with an already established team so that the crowd would have cared about the match. Their debut was poor and that's the main reason that the WWE Universe is currently on the fence about their ability.
If WWE gives them a second chance then they need to set up a deep routed rivalry from the beginning and let that build up otherwise these stars are doomed to relive the same fortunes they did as Los Matadores.
