Premier League clubs were put on red alert after reports emerged that Robert Lewandowski is ready to consider leaving Bayern Munich.
The Daily Mail claims that Lewandowski has grown unsettled at the Allianz Arena and is looking to challenge himself in a new league. The Pole has succeeded at both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, winning the Bundesliga twice with each club.
At 27-years-old, the time now appears right for Lewandowski to try his hand somewhere along the continent and the stars are aligning for the Premier League, which has never been richer or more in need of fresh striker talent.

Indeed, both Manchester United and Arsenal are on the lookout for new attackers this summer and have both been linked with an interest in Lewandowski in the past.
Both are likely to be involved in any bidding war, especially if Arsenal's bid for Jamie Vardy falls through. Meanwhile, Manchester City have the finances in place to make a deal happen but do not need a new striker while Chelsea are seemingly more interested in trying to keep Diego Costa.

That does not mean Manchester United and Arsenal will be running a two-horse race, however. That is because the very same report claims that Lewandowski is keen to reunite with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
It is the kind of news that Liverpool fans have been waiting to hear ever since the charismatic German arrived at Anfield in October. Here is a manager capable of attracting the world's biggest stars to the club simply because of his reputation.
However, a major problem for Liverpool and, therefore, Manchester United, is their lack of Champions League football. The same report claims Lewandowski would only consider a move to Merseyside if they manage to qualify for Europe's elite competition. That rules out this summer then and also serves as a reminder of how devastating their Europa League final defeat was.
Beating Sevilla on the night would have given them automatic entry to the Champions League and, it seems, the perfect platform to chase Lewandowski.
Real Madrid dream
For Lewandowski, the ultimate dream is to play for Real Madrid but the striker is all too aware that his passage to the Bernabeu is being halted by Karim Benzema. The French star has always been linked with a move away but has continued to stand up to his critics and is now considered part of the Los Blancos furniture .
Lewandowski knows Benzema would have to leave before he can arrive and knows that is unlikely to happen. As a result, the Premier League has the chance to snatch one of the standout stars of the world game.
But which club do you think will take it? Let us know in the comment box below!
