There have been many names listed by websites over the past few days that it seems WWE are interested in bringing back, they include the likes of former WWE Champions Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy as well as former Cruiserweight competitors Brian Kendrick and Tajiri.
Goldberg has also been included in the speculation after he failed to appear at WrestleMania 33 despite heavy rumours that he had stuck a deal with WWE. The fact that he is appearing in the new WWE 2K17 game means that there has been contact between the two parties and an eventual return could potentially be on the table.
Rey Mysterio is currently under contract with Lucha Underground and Jeff Hardy is still aligned with TNA but both men have recently talked about a return and the brand split could easily make space for them.
STAR POWER NEEDED?
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has recently been reporting that WWE really needs to boost it's roster for both Raw and Smackdown because following the brand split both rosters will be needing to tour independently of one another.
This means that WWE need faces for both Raw and Smackdown to ensure that there are recognisable, ticket selling superstars for either side.
Whilst many of these names have been mentioned, there are also other stars returning for the Cruiser-weight Classic tournament which could allow them to then transfer them over to the main roster after a winner has been determined.
This latest news will only serve to add more excitement to the upcoming draft and knowing these names could be involved will definitely boost WWE's rating in the coming weeks.
