It has been a difficult couple of years for Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj.
The 21-year-old burst onto the scene in style under the David Moyes regime during the 2013/14 season. He was quickly hailed as the new Ryan Giggs and was even handed the Welshman's No.11 shirt at Old Trafford.
But things have turned sour for him in Manchester as he failed to truly get a look in with Louis van Gaal in charge. Indeed, after a solid start to last season - Januzaj scored United's winning goal against Aston Villa at Villa Park - he was offloaded to German outfit Borussia Dortmund.

While many expected the loan deal to help his progression, it's safe to say that he didn't stamp his mark on the Bundesliga. He quickly returned to United but clearly wasn't good enough for Van Gaal's inconsistent side.
But that doesn't necessarily mean that he won't be good enough for Jose Mourinho. The Special One will be determined to help the Red Devils back to the summit of the Premier League sooner rather than later, but will he hand Januzaj a shot at redemption?

Jose had his say
Well, back in 2014, the Portuguese tactician hailed Januzaj as a 'fantastic player' and suggested that he would have a 'great long-term career'.
“He is a fantastic player,” said Mourinho, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“He is not 18, he is 25. He is so mature and comfortable. A very good and important player.
“I just think he is a very good player with the great conditions to have a great long-term career. I don’t know the boy individually, but it looks like he has the lot.”
As Januzaj emerged on the scene, Mourinho clearly thought highly of him. But things have changed since then as the player's stuttering career has failed to take off.
It's clear for all to see, then, that Januzaj must work hard over the coming months to prove to Mourinho that he has a future at the club. And if his latest tweet is anything to go by, it appears that his work has already begun.
Indeed, he took to social media to show United fans - and perhaps Mourinho - exactly what he has been doing in the gym.
Here's his tweet:
United fans duly reacted to the tweet and the majority of them backed Januzaj to come good under Mourinho. They certainly haven't given up hope that he will become a leading player for the club.
