As the site also revealed, the 31-year-old took to Twitter to express his regret for his actions, stating: 'I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy. No excuses. I own it.'
This news came as a huge shock to every member of the WWE Universe, with Reigns having lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title just last Sunday night at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view event.
Any belt or achievement however, quickly becomes less important when a WWE employee breaches the company rules in any way.
WWE commentator Jerry Lawler is another surprising name to have recently been suspended by the company following his arrest, as stated by Bleacher Report.
To learn that someone as experienced and as well-liked as Lawler had been suspended by WWE came as a huge shock to many fans and undoubtedly caused a lot of disappointment.
While it is no secret that professional wrestling employees are a unique type of person, anyone who is going to break rules set out by the company they work for should be suitably punished.
Any WWE contract undoubtedly comes with a specific set of strict rules and regulations which must be adhered to throughout the entirety of the employment.
With this in mind, no employee whether it be the biggest WWE superstar or a member of staff backstage is exempt from the consequences which are put in place should any rule be broken.
What is perhaps most upsetting is the fact so many WWE fans both young and old would have been affected by the suspension of some of their favourite WWE stars.
These employees must remember they are in no way above the laws of the company and as such, are expected to obey the rules as set out by WWE during every moment of their employment.
