Sadio Mane could be about to become one of the most expensive signings in Liverpool’s history.
Jurgen Klopp is reportedly close to agreeing a £30 million deal with Southampton to sign the Senegal forward.
Only Andy Carroll and Christian Benteke have cost the Reds more, and it is certainly hoped that Mane can deliver more than those two.

According to the Daily Mail, Klopp has identified the 24-year-old as an important part of his rebuilding plans and wants to sign him before Liverpool’s pre-season schedule begins on July 2.
Discussions have been ongoing for the past month and Southampton are close to accepting Liverpool’s terms.
Liverpool fans react
He would become Klopp’s fourth signing of the window, following the acquisitions of Joel Matip, Marko Grujic and Loris Karius and the spree wouldn’t end with Mane.
Liverpool had a £7m bid for Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell rejected earlier in the week and are reportedly pursuing Hull City’s Andy Robertson.
Meanwhile, the Mirror claim Liverpool have tabled a £9.5m bid for Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, who is excited at the prospect of working with Klopp.
Another Saint leaves for Anfield
So it’s a summer of upheaval at Anfield. You have to credit Klopp’s direct approach to rebuilding his team - he’s identified the players he wants and wasted little time in going after them.
Should Mane join, he will become the latest Saint to arrive at the club, following in the footsteps of Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert and Nathaniel Clyne.
