Jose Mourinho didn’t waste long in getting stuck in at Manchester United, signing Eric Bailly earlier this month.
But, while the Red Devils have been linked with a host of players, Mourinho is reportedly upset with United’s transfer strategy.
While Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane have been mentioned as targets, United haven’t actually managed to complete a real statement signing in the window.
And, according to the Manchester Evening News, Mourinho isn’t happy that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward hasn’t been able to clinch any additional deals to Bailly's £30 million signing from Villarreal.
And the handling of Renato Sanches affair couldn’t have pleased Mourinho at all.
United indicated that they didn’t sign the midfielder from Benfica because Louis van Gaal wasn’t interested in him.
However, M.E.N. claim that was a smokescreen and United could have signed Sanches a week before he joined Benfica.
Ibrahimovic and Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan appear likely to arrive but Mourinho is said to desperately want Pogba.
Real Madrid are favourites to sign the Juventus star but Spanish media outlet AS today reported that United, unlike Los Blancos, have stolen a march in the hunt to sign Pogba.
The Red Devils are ready to pay Juventus’ €120 million demand for the Frenchman while Madrid consider the fee too steep.
Yet Mourinho is said to have his doubts that United can actually beat the Champions League winners to Pogba’s signing.
If Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan arrive, most United fans would consider the transfer window a success.
