Real Madrid have been warned that their attempts to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus could be ended if they do not make a firm move for him in the near future.
According to AS, the reason for the hurry has been caused by Manchester United, who have started to talk 'seriously' about the prospect of completing a world-record transfer for the midfielder.
Jose Mourinho has been insistent on the idea of signing Pogba, forcing chief executive Ed Woodward to scrap his previously stubborn position that they were in no way interested in bringing him back to Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old annoyed more than a few officials when he swapped Manchester United for Juventus in 2012, citing a lack of first-team opportunities as the primary reason. The fact that he has gone on to become one of the world's most respected midfielders only added to their bitterness.
Now, thanks to Mourinho's influence, all are in agreement that Pogba is a necessary addition and they have started to talk to his agent Mino Raiola about a deal that could be worth up to £100million. AS have been told these talks are pretty much the real thing, suggesting a formal offer to Juventus could be forthcoming.

The Spanish newspaper also pays homage to the fact that Raiola and Manchester United have a pretty good relationship. The super agent has basically lived in the Old Trafford boardroom this summer and is close to getting two of his biggest clients, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, in United shirts.
Those deals are close to completion and could be announced by the end of next week, which may be why talks have moved on to Raiola's prized asset. They have the money to meet both the transfer fee and Pogba's reported £12m-a-year wage demands.
Their financial might and their relationship with Raiola gives United a tremendous advantage should Real Madrid eventually decide to rival them for Pogba's signature.
Zidane v Perez
But Real Madrid's in-house bickering could be about to cost them big time. Head coach Zinedine Zidane has requested the addition of Pogba, believing he could be the key to Real Madrid toppling Barcelona's La Liga dynasty but president Florentino Perez is not so sure.
For one, Perez has been put off by the price Juventus are demanding. Although Perez is never afraid to break the world transfer record, he is concerned about Real Madrid's mounting debt, which currently stands at an estimated €600m.
