Leicester City did incredibly well to keep hold of Jamie Vardy after Arsenal triggered the striker’s release clause.
After Leicester’s remarkable triumph last season, it was feared that Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante would leave the club.
And though Claudio Ranieri managed to convince Vardy to sign a four-year deal, he may not be quite so lucky when it comes to Kante.

The Frenchman has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid, who are eager to reinforce their defensive-midfield options.
And the Telegraph include Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus as potential destinations.

Sorry, Madrid, Arsenal, United and Juve fans (and Leicester supporters, for that matter) - Kante is reportedly seeking a move to Stamford Bridge.
Conte's ideal man
The Leicester player is said to be interested in working with Antonio Conte, who has turned to Kante after having two bids for Radja Nainggolan rejected.
Conte, who will arrive at Chelsea after Euro 2016, is seeking a midfielder with a high work-rate, and few are better at roaming the pitch than Kante.
The former Caen midfielder has a release clause of just £20 million, so Leicester should be bracing themselves for a bid in the coming days.
Although £20m is the minimum fee it would take to sign Kante. Leicester would be required to accept a bid of that amount but it could trigger an auction, something that is said to have put Arsenal off in their pursuit of the player.
The Foxes must hope that their offer of a £100,000-per-week contract is enough to convince the France international to stay, just as an improved contract helped sway Vardy’s decision.
If Kante doesn’t join Michy Batshauyi as one of Conte’s summer signings, the club will turn their attentions to Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel.
Batshauyi might not be the only striker to arrive at west London in the transfer window. Chelsea have confirmed the exits of Alexandre Pato and Radamel Falcao, leaving Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Batshauyi as Conte’s options.
And the Telegraph claim that Chelsea have held talks over signing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid in a deal worth £50m.
As for Leicester, replacing Kante will be a near impossible task. Finding a player who can provide the defensive nous and work rate that he brought last season will be difficult for Ranieri, who is preparing his squad for their defence of the Premier League title and debut season in the Champions League.
