Smalling flew to Bali shortly after England's defeat against Iceland.

Chris Smalling rushed to hospital in Bali after being 'stung by a jellyfish'

Published 2 Comments

In the aftermath of England's shock exit and defeat to Iceland at Euro 2016 last Monday, several of Roy Hodgson's stars were pictured jetting off to countries across the world.

Wayne Rooney escaped to Ibiza on an £88 Easy Jet flight with wife Coleen; Dele Alli followed suit and was pictured partying at the Ocean Beach Club; while Chris Smalling caught a long haul flight to Bali.

Just what the doctor ordered after suffering such embarrassment at an international tournament, right?

According to unconfirmed reports, the 26-year-old took a heavy fall whilst surfing near the Indonesian island when the incident occurred.

The above picture appears to show Smalling on a hospital stretcher with a bandage around his head.

That didn't stop him from signing a shirt for a fan, though.

It all seems to have gone from bad to worse for Smalling following England's shambolic display in France.

After finishing second in Group B behind Wales, the Three Lions faced Iceland in the last 16 but crashed and burned to a 2-1 defeat.

More on Smalling to follow...
