Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be taking on Juan Mata's number eight shirt ahead of the new Premier League season, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Swede completed a move to Old Trafford late last week and appeared to reveal his new shirt number.
During an interview with United's TV station MUTV, the enigmatic forward allegedly stated: “Eight? That's cool."

Ultimately, though, it appears that the number eight shirt will not belong to Ibrahimovic.
MEN claim that the player's number is not yet known as the club are yet to decide on their full list of shirt numbers for the 2016/17 campaign.
Mata still on his way
United fans will certainly be watching on with an interest over the coming weeks as things continue to develop.
Despite it appearing that the ex-PSG man will not take on Mata's number, it doesn't necessarily mean that the Spaniard won't be leaving the club behind.
The report suggests Mata could still be on his way out in the immediate future.
Mata, 28, was moved on by Mourinho while he was in charge of Chelsea and it appears that something very similar could happen once again.
It has recently been speculated that the technically-gifted midfielder could complete a move to Everton.
The Toffees, who recently hired Ronald Koeman as their new manager, have been linked with the player's services, but it's far from certain as to whether he would be interesting in joining them.
One thing is for sure, the dynamic at Old Trafford is quickly changing under Mourinho's guidance. As well as Ibrahimovic, Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly has also joined the club, while Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan could also complete a high-profile transfer to shortly.
Indeed, Dortmund have already confirmed that they have agreed on a deal with the Red Devils for the player's signature.
And then there's France international Paul Pogba, who left United for nothing back in 2012. The 23-year-old has gone from strength-to-strength at Italian outfit Juventus and could now return to Manchester in the immediate future.
