Reports of Liverpool signing Dinamo Zagreb's Ante Coric have really gathered pace over the past few days.
Croatian outlet TPortal made the claim that Jurgen Klopp’s side had made a “concrete proposal” of around £12.8 million in an attempt to capture the 19-year-old. Following those reports, Coric only fuelled the speculation further by ‘liking’ numerous Instagram posts linking him with a move to Anfield.
And now, the Daily Mail have got involved and are also reporting that Liverpool are extremely interested in securing the services of the highly-rated midfielder.

The report claims that the Merseysiders have put together a £12.5 million proposal which includes numerous add-ons based on performances.
However, they also state that the Anfield outfit face stiff competition for his signature in the form of Napoli. Incidentally, the Italian club are also fighting with Liverpool to sign Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

Klopp wants Coric
But Klopp certainly hasn’t got a clear run to sign Coric, either. Manchester City and Chelsea are also reportedly keen but it seems as though Liverpool have made the first move.
But this transfer activity isn’t a spur of the moment move from Klopp. It’s believed the German boss has been tracking Coric since his days managing at Borussia Dortmund, so he obviously knows all about him.
And reports linking Coric with a move to Liverpool have been ongoing for several months now. The Daily Mail ran a report back in May that Klopp had already phoned the hot prospect enquiring about a potential move to the club.
There’s no smoke without fire and all these reports - not to mention Coric’s Instagram activity - point to one thing: a move to Liverpool this summer. Time will tell.
Central midfielders departing
There certainly seems to be a lot of movement in terms of central midfielders at Anfield at the moment. The signing of Marko Gruijic was agreed months ago and he’s arrived at the club this week for pre-season training. However, two centre-midfielders could soon be on their way out.
Joe Allen, whose contract expires next summer, and Luis Alberto, who spent the campaign at Deportivo, are both targets of Sevilla.
The sporting director of the Europa League champions, Monchi, confirmed his interest in the pair.
"Ganso and Allen aren’t the only players that fit in our plans. They meet the profile, but they don’t have to be the ones who come,” he said.
"Luis Alberto? There’s an offer and we’re evaluating it. Negotiations haven’t started. He has features valid to the game we have.”
