Leigh Griffiths has blasted Joey Barton over his comments towards Scott Brown ahead of the new Scottish Premier League season.
Barton is yet to kick a ball for Rangers but has already been busy insulting his new Glasgow rivals, he taunted Celtic’s club captain Scott Brown by claiming the Scot was not in the same league as him.
Griffiths has hit back at that claim however in the Daily Record, by pointing towards Brown’s superior CV and the deadly Celtic marksman was less than complimentary of the controversial Englishman.

“Joey Barton has obviously got a mouth on him.
“How many caps has Joey got? Just the one for England. Broony (Scott Brown) has 50 for Scotland, he’s the captain of his national team, won titles and competed in the Champions League.
“It’s up to Barton to say what he wants but look at Broony’s CV. Now look at Joey Barton’s CV and everything he’s done in his career.
“Compare the two CV’s together. I’m pretty sure I know who I would pick”.
Griffiths scored 40 goals for Celtic last term, a Celtic striker hasn’t hit that tally since the days of Henrik Larsson and he will be raring to hit the ground running again this season.
Competition for spaces in the Celtic front line is fierce now since the signing of highly-rated Frenchman Moussa Dembele and the continued good form of on-loan Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts.
Celtic’s first competitive game of the season will be this month as the Hoops gear up for the Champions League qualifiers. After failing to reach the group stages of the competition under Ronny Deila, Celtic will be desperate to rejoin Europe’s elite this year.
If the Bhoys do manage to reach the group stages this year they can expect a hefty financial bonus which could aid towards further signings in the transfer market, given the fact Rangers will not be involved in European competition this season that could hand Celtic a major advantage for the title race to come.
