Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho risks upsetting his players if he decides to sell Juan Mata this summer.
This has been reported by the Manchester Evening News, who claim that the possible departure of the Spaniard would be very unpopular with the players of the Red Devils.
Mata, 28, previously played under Mourinho's guidance at Chelsea, but the Special One opted to offload him to Old Trafford.

Indeed, the technically-gifted midfielder struggled to hold down a regular position in the Chelsea side and failed to truly take to Mourinho's philosophy.
And now with Mourinho in charge of United, there's every chance that Mata could once again be moved on.

But it appears that all is not lost for Mata at this stage; he clearly has the backing of his teammates and it also appears that he's ready to attempt to prove his credentials to the Portuguese manager.
Ultimately, though, Mourinho is already changing the dynamic of his squad and it's going to be very difficult for Mata to make an impact on his new-look side next season.
After securing deals for enigmatic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly, the club confirmed on Wednesday that they had purchased Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.
Mkhitaryan racked up a magnificent 23 goals and 26 assists in 52 appearances last season, so there can be no underestimating his quality.
Mourinho has already hailed his new signing, claiming that he 'will make an impact on the team' immediately.
The United boss stated: "Henrikh is a very talented footballer who has been in such prolific form for both his club and his country. He is a real team player with great skill, vision and also has a good eye for goal. I am delighted he has chosen to sign for United.
"I believe he will make an impact on the team very quickly as his style of play is suited to the Premier League. We are all looking forward to working with him."
There's every chance, then, that he will directly replace Mata in the United side for the 2016/17 campaign.
Both players starred on the right of midfield last term, but it's uncertain as to whether Mourinho will hand his new signing a similar role in his team. The United boss also has the likes of Jesse Lingard, Adnan Januzaj and Memphis Depay at his disposal.
