Arsenal's need for a world-class striker is well documented.
Olivier Giroud has lead the Gunners' attacking line since signing in 2012 but continues to frustrate the club's fans.
Indeed, the general consensus is that the France international isn't good enough to inspire Premier League glory.

Various Arsenal legends have had their say on who Arsene Wenger should sign in the summer transfer window, with Ray Parlour the latest to comment.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the former midfielder insisted greater attacking quality is needed at the Emirates Stadium and earmarked Antoine Griezmann as his preferred choice.
He said: "Romelu Lukaku's been mentioned. We'd love to see Antoine Griezmann at Arsenal. That's the sort of quality they need.
"With Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil around they will always create chances. Olivier Giroud has done well. He's a good player but they need someone of the calibre of a Sergio Aguero or a Luis Suarez.
"They missed out on Suarez a few years ago. He would have been perfect for them and could have helped them go on to win the league. If they can get someone of that ilk then they could go on to challenge for the title next season.
"It's not rocket science in terms of who they need. A striker needs to come in but Arsenal probably need three more players to come in and reinforce the spine of the team. If they can do that they can go on and win the title."
It would seem Wenger is busy trying to appease fans' demands amidst rumours linking Lukaku, Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette with a move to north London.
Morata appears the most likely after reportedly declaring he would prefer to join Arsenal over Chelsea, while talks to sign Lacazette are ongoing.
