Dean Ambrose won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank after firstly winning the briefcase and then cashing it in later that night to pin Seth Rollins to become the new champion.
However, it seems that Ambrose may not be the champion for much longer if Vince McMahon and the WWE get their way.
Dropping the Title
According to a report from respected wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio, via NoDQ, Ambrose may well be dropping his title at the WWE Battleground PPV later this month.

WWE fans have been waiting for two things ever since The Shield broke up in 2014. One, Dean Ambrose to actually get his hands on the title for good, and two, for all three of them to take part in a Triple Threat match at some point.
Well, while that is all happening right now, it won't be ending the way that those same fans would have been hoping.
Rollins vs Reigns
According to Meltzer, the current plan is for Ambrose to be pinned at Battleground with the main event of SummerSlam being Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns for the title. Hard luck, Dean.
If this were to happen, it would be such a disappointing way for Ambrose to lose the title. With the way that he has been backing up Reigns since the Samoan's suspension, defending him to the hilt to his own arguable detriment, one would expect the WWE to treat Ambrose better and reward him.
But no. The WWE have gone "thanks for defending the (alleged) drug cheat Dean, but we're kicking you out of the main event scene."
This all ties in to the previous report that Reigns is going to be pushed with a "redemption angle" upon his return, apologising for the ban and trying to get back on good terms with fans. The problem there is the fans didn't like Reigns in the first place and this suspension didn't help. Trying to get them not to boo him is ridiculous.
Still, Dean Ambrose not getting a single successful defense of the WWE Championship is poor from the WWE. After two years of pushing him down the card, they haven't even afforded him that honour.
