Todd Gurley thinks everyone should draft him first in fantasy football

Anticipation is high ahead of the 2016 NFL season and with the return of the Los Angeles Rams, the West coast is looking set to explode.

The Rams have made their fair share of headlines this summer, from their historic move back to LA to them trading with the Tennessee Titans for the first overall pick in the draft.

Time to step up?

Despite finishing with a losing record, there were some promising signs from the Rams' final season in St Louis.

The biggest however was the emergence of rookie runningback Todd Gurley who earned his spot as the thrid highest rusher in the league last season behind Adrian Peterson and Doug Martin.

Despite missing three games through injury, Gurley took the NFL by storm with performances against the Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns proving to be the highest points.

Ahead of the new season, Gurley is optimistic that he can be even better, and he has given fans some fantasy football advice.

"Oh, No. 1 overall, for sure... I mean you maybe could choose AB. You maybe could choose Antonio Brown over me, but that's about it. No body else.... Maybe Cam (Newton), that's it. Cam and AB." - Gurley on who to draft first this year

Gurley may be getting a bit ahead of himself claiming that only last year's MVP and Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown are the only people who can rival him for the top pick in people's fantasy drafts.

Gurley had an incredible season last year, but his performances dipped in the final eight games after other teams noticed the lack of a Rams passing game.

Drafting quarterback Jared Goff with the first overall pick is surely the Rams' best hope of being able to unleash Gurley once again.

A tough year ahead?

With the Rams having made the move to LA, they finally join their NFC West counterparts in the more westerly points of the country.

Going up against the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers in the division this year, it could prove to be tough for LA once again.

Gurley will be instrumental in any success that the Rams have this year and it will be interesting to see how a Jared Goff led franchise fare in his rookie year.
