UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic wouldn't mind a fight against Brock Lesnar

Published Add your comment

Brock Lesnar returned to UFC last weekend at UFC 200 after being away from mixed martial arts for several years to defeat Mark Hunt via unanimous decision.

However, this fight was only a one-off, as The Beast Incarnate is still contracted with the WWE, so it will be down to the WWE's Chairman, Vince McMahon if he ever takes part in a UFC fight again.

That hasn't stopped people matchmaking him up with a possible next opponent if he ever decides to fight in the octagon again.

Current UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic was asked on cleveland.com's YouTube channel - according to MMAMania - if he would ever fight against Brock Lesnar, to which he replied: "Yeah, whoever the UFC wants me to fight, I'm okay with that. I signed up for this, I know what I got myself into, so whoever they want me to fight, I'll fight."

Yet, before we can even start talking about a Miocic vs Lesnar fight, the 33-year-old must defend his championship against Alistair Overeem in the UFC 203 main event this September. Lesnar must also receive permission from Mr. McMahon again to fight under the UFC promotion once more, although he may take the decision himself to end his MMA career on a win.

Cain Velasquez is also demanding a fight between the winner of Miocic vs Overeem, and he is third in the UFC Heavyweight rankings so he is more entitled to a fight than Lesnar if Miocic retains at UFC 203.

So for now, a match between Miocic and Lesnar is looking like it will remain the stuff of dreams.
