On the final taped edition of SmackDown, before it goes live next week, the WWE fans in attendance were lucky enough to see the highly anticipated return of the former NXT Champion, Neville.
'The Man That Gravity Forgot' has been out of action since the March 14 episode of Monday Night Raw when Neville's attempted baseball slide on Chris Jericho resulted in an ankle break. However, referee Charles Robinson wasn't aware of the injury as he argued with Jericho, allowing the match to continue as planned.
As expected, his return wasn't hyped up in any form by the company. Instead, he was featured in a dark match against a long-time rival in Bo Dallas.

The two share a rich history, as Neville – who is now sporting a beard upon his return - was the man to wrangle the NXT Championship away from him when they were both in the developmental territory. So it makes sense that the WWE were playing it safe with this match as Dallas is someone he shares great chemistry with.
The injury to Neville came at the worst possible time. Suffering the break less than a month before WrestleMania meant he had to miss the huge event where he could have played a prominent role in a mid-card match. Considering his Red Arrow finishing manoeuvre is a spectacle in itself, and it would have been even better off the ladder in the Intercontinental Championship match which was won by Zack Ryder.
Neville is expected to be in action once more this Saturday at Madison Square Garden against Jericho. But all eyes are on next Tuesday where Neville should make his televised return in the draft as the General Manager's of Raw and SmackDown, picked by Shane and Stephanie McMahon, will look to utilise his immensely popular high-flying abilities which the WWE Universe loves.

HIGH DRAFT PICK?
Neville has had a mixed first year on the main roster, as he’s captivated the audience with his incredible arsenal of moves, and even came close to picking up a massive win over then-WWE Champion, Seth Rollins.
However, when you consider his achievements before his main roster debuted, which included fantastic TakeOver matches as well as a 10-month reign as NXT Champion, a record which is now held by Finn Balor, you’d expect the writers to give him something better to bite his teeth into.
His return at the dark match is a good sign for Neville and his fans, if he can stay healthy in the critical months ahead, then he could play a prominent role on either show and hopefully he’s given enough storylines to show us what he’s really made of.
