The WWE rely heavily on John Cena, whether it’s carrying the company on his shoulders, elevating the prestige of championships or representing the company during promotional tours.
He’s been the go-to man for so many years, and he’s representing the organisation right now by hosting the 2016 ESPYS on Wednesday night. Working non-stop eventually takes its toll, and that could be the case with Cena, based on recent comments.
WHEN WILL HE CALL IT A DAY?
Speaking to Uproxx, Cena highlighted that there’s an end in sight regarding his decorated in-ring career, but doesn’t plan on ditching wrestling right away to get into the Hollywood industry.

Recent reports have suggested that Cena could be receiving a lighter schedule, something he’s addressed on his Twitter account, so perhaps he’s already looking at what the future holds for him.
“I’m going to do this as long as I physically can. There is a definitive end in sight. I’m gonna milk it for all that it’s worth. And not like, ‘I’m gonna hang on to my spot, man.’…I just want to be involved, I want to be able to contribute because the noise and the appreciation, like that is such wonderful psychology to be able to manipulate.”
It’s not 100% clear when that end will come, but having seen what the jump from the WWE to Hollywood can be like with The Rock, Cena will probably be keeping a close eye on potential roles having impressed in his movie and television stints, despite how much the WWE relies on him.
