Fans were left unimpressed with Daniel Cormier’s victory over Anderson Silva at UFC 200, with ‘DC’ opting for a takedown game to neutralise the threat of the dangerous Brazilian.
Despite all of the drama heading into the bout, it didn’t seem to end after the dust had settled either with Donald Cerrone using a homophobic slur to describe Cormier’s fighting style in a Q&A with CM Punk.
After saying he fought like a ‘f*g’ – despite Brock Lesnar also opting for takedowns against Mark Hunt - the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion hit back at ‘Cowboy’, saying he’ll get Khabib Nurmagomedov to ‘smack his head’ with his cowboy hat.

Speaking on the MMAHour, he said: “My reaction to Donald is shut up. Has he lost his mind? I mean, what was this guy talking about?”
“What are you doing? Who are you to say that you can say something like that? You beat a couple of guys and all of a sudden you walk around with that stupid cowboy hat... I'll smack the side of your head with that stupid hat. I'll actually have Khabib do that for me. I'll ask Khabib to smack his head."
Despite later apologising for his slur, his comments won't be forgotten considering he's been embroiled in a situation similar to this before, and Cormier found his remarks upsetting and rude and listed Cerrone's failures against the likes of Anthony Pettis and Rafael dos Anjos.
With the recent shootings in Orlando taking place, it’ll be interesting to see if the UFC punishes him along with the fact that on the same night, Amanda Nunes became the first openly gay fighter to win a UFC Championship.
