At least 84 people have been killed after a lorry ploughed through a crowd during Bastille Day celebrations in the southern French city of Nice on Thursday evening.

A further 18 are in a critical condition in hospital, according to BBC News, while French president Francois Hollande has described the incident as a terrorist attack.

Stars from the world of football have paid tribute to the victims - as too have a host of football clubs.

France has declared three days of national mourning, beginning on Saturday, while the driver of the lorry was shot dead by police.

French media reports say he’s been identified as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel.
