It’s 13 days since Italy were knocked out of the European Championships in the quarter-finals by Germany, but their veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon can’t keep himself away from the pitch.
The world-class shot-stopper, who turns 39 in January, was filmed playing in goal with a bunch of local kids while on holiday in Italy earlier this week.
Just when you think Buffon can’t enhance his legendary status any further, he goes and does something like this. (Scroll down this page to watch the video).

Buffon, playing for the shirtless team, can be seen rolling the ball out to his young teammates and preparing himself to make some saves.
Unfortunately, there’s no footage of him making any saves. In any case, we can’t imagine he let too many goals in.

Buffon: Still one of the world's best
Buffon is still one of the world’s top goalkeepers and recently put pen to paper on a new two-year contract extension with Juventus.
"I'm immensely proud in the faith Juventus have placed in me once more,” he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. “I hope that my fantastic story with this club will go on and bring even further success."
Andrea Agnelli, the club’s president, added: "Having Gianluigi Buffon as captain is a privilege - he is a man who makes a difference, on and off (the pitch)."
Will Buffon retire at 40?
Buffon will be 40 by the time his next contract expires and that will surely mark the end of his professional career.
Although don’t be shocked if this superhuman ‘keeper signs one final contract extension before hanging up his gloves.
