On the back of a season that promised so much and delivered so little, Liverpool are looking to invest and improve throughout the transfer window.
Although Jurgen Klopp has denied the need to chase ‘big names’, there can be little doubting he’ll be involved in plenty of business over this summer. One player frequently linked to the club has been Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
However, it has emerged today that a deal with Liverpool has fallen through and the 22-year-old will move to AC Milan instead. While Klopp will likely be disappointed, it’s fair to say the fans are far less concerned.

According to Goal.com, the Udinese midfielder made it clear to the board that he wanted a move to Liverpool. However, with a deal failing to be agreed, Udinese have turned to AC Milan as suitors.
The Merseyside outfit have been forced to end their pursuit and Zielinski appears San Siro-bound.
The 22-year-old is on the back of a successful loan with Empoli and has established himself in the Poland squad. Nonetheless, he remains an unknown quantity and a potential gamble.

With a potential bargain slipping through the fingers of Klopp, the German will have to turn his attention elsewhere to bolster his midfield.
However, as far as pleasing the supporters go, failing to capture Zielinski appears to be a positive move.
