The futsal league has taken off in a similar manner to MLS by attracting players beyond their peak years but still capable of putting on a show.
Ryan Giggs, Hernan Crespo, Michel Salgado and Falcao (no, not that one) have all made appearances in the league, while Portuguese hero Luis Figo is the president.

Cricket is the most popular sport in the Asian country but it is hoped the presence of some footballing legends will improve football’s status. Virat Kohli, rated one of the best batsmen in the world, is the league’s brand ambassador.
While the United States offers players a place to play in the their final years as a professional, and huge wages draw players to China, players on the verge of retirement are heading to India to take part in the five-a-side league.
And Ronaldinho, who was born to perform tricks, represents a real coup.
During his time at Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and AC Milan, the Brazilian forward was a nightmare for defences but entertained crowds to no end.
It’s great to see that, even at the age of 36, Ronaldinho has found a place to produce his most creative football.
