It had been claimed that super-agent Mino Raiola, who has already brought Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Old Trafford this summer, had given the Red Devils an ultimatum over the deal.
However, it appears those reports were somewhat wide of the mark, though United, Pogba, and his current club Juventus are all understood to be keen to wrap the move up quickly.

World record deal
Juve need the money to proceed with their other transfer dealings, while United have already begun their pre-season fixtures and would ideally like to have their full compliment of players available.
Manager Jose Mourinho is expected to bring in Pogba in a deal worth a world record £100million, though there is always the possibility that he could stay in Turin.
United must look upon their decision to let him leave all those years ago as incredibly bad business, as they are now paying a heavy price.
Raiola's big summer
Pogba's France teammate Blaise Matuidi would be United's preferred backup option if it doesn't go through, but all the indications are that the 23-year-old will return to the Premier League.
Raiola, meanwhile, is having a ridiculously lucrative summer, seemingly finding himself at the centre of many of the transfer window's biggest moves.
While he will be keen to wrap up Pogba's United switch, he will be anxious not to scare the club off, in which case the finer details could rumble on for quite some time yet.
