The former Real Madrid star was also the third top goal scorer at this year's Copa America with four goals, and has consistently been one Europe's top strikers over the years.
Despite finishing second last season, Arsenal scored the fewest amount of goals out of all the top four teams with 65, six less than fourth placed Manchester City.

French international Olivier Giroud scored 16 Premier League goals last season, not a bad record at all, but when you consider both Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero, who both finished below Arsene Wenger's side, scored more, it's certainly an issue the manager must address.
Giroud hasn't scored 20 goals in a Premier League season since his move from Montpellier in 2012; a trait title-winning forwards must possess.
The potential stumbling block for Arsenal will be Napoli's valuation of the striker.
It's reported that the Serie A side won't sell the Argentine for anything less than £78.5 million, which would make him one of the most expensive players in world football. It would also mean Arsenal smashing their transfer record, which currently stands at £42m.
Napoli are adamant they won't sell their star asset unless his release clause is activated, which could put Arsenal off any potential delal.
Despite the huge price, Wenger simply has to make this deal happen. Arsenal's forward options have been a big problem for years and was a big factor in their failure to win the title last season.
Higuain is the world-class forward that Arsenal have needed for a long time, and Wenger will have to realise that to be successful, he will need to spend big money on elite players.
