Over the course of seven seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, Karim Benzema has racked up an impressive 161 goals for Real Madrid.
While his instinctive finishing and ruthless physicality have undoubtedly played their part, the 28-year-old has alluded to a more unorthodox goal scoring aid in the form of an odd pre-match routine.
The Los Blancos striker has demonstrated the process he goes through, via a new video, before every game to fulfill his superstitions.

Whether it be Laurent Blanc kissing the bald head of Fabien Barthez or Paul Ince entering the tunnel topless, superstitions are nothing new in football.
However, Benzema has taken this one step further by showcasing each part of the process in a video from Real Madrid's pre-season campaign. It's certainly difficult to grasp, but it clearly works for the ex-Lyon forward.
The video of the routine can be seen below:
It clearly shows the 28-year-old donning a new pair of football boots exclusively in the company of the Los Blancos kit man. The Frenchman insists on being almost completely alone before altering his footwear.
In addition to this, Benzema gets the kit man to touch the toes of each boot before jogging off to the pitch and the session in wait.
The logic and thought behind it isn't revealed, but with such a prolific goal scoring record, Benzema is unlikely to ditch it anytime soon.
It's been a rocky few weeks for Benzema given his absence from Euro 2016; a second Champions League medal will likely have gone a long way to softening the blow however.
Nonetheless, with Real being persistently linked with a move for Robert Lewandowski and having recaptured Alvaro Morata, the Frenchman's spot could be under threat.
Consequently, one must hope that for his sake, the now-revealed boot routine continues to work its magic for Benzema. Besides, it's sink or swim at Madrid and goals are a necessity.
