Earlier this year, the entire fight world was in raptures at the news that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather were in discussions for a potential fight.
The two superstars, easily the biggest names in Mixed Martial Arts and boxing respectively, were supposedly setting up the biggest fight of the century, taking on each other in Las Vegas in what would surely be the biggest selling pay-per-view of all time.
That talk has stalled significantly since then but there is still a boxer who wants to face McGregor, it just isn't Mayweather. The man who wants to take on The Notorious One? Amir Khan.

Speaking in an interview with FloCombat, Khan stated that he would be absolutely up for taking on McGregor in the octagon one day.
"It just depends on the weight category," Khan said. "But look, as a fighter, that's a fight I would take. McGregor is a massive name in MMA, and I'm a big name in boxing, so globally I think it would be a massive fight."
While it isn't on the same scale as McGregor vs Mayweather, Conor vs Khan would still be a big draw and do significant PPV sales.
According to Khan, he would have no problem with putting his friendships to the side in a bout with the Irishman.
"Sometimes, you have to put friendship aside and you have to take it in the cage or in the ring. But yeah, if that fight comes up to me, I'm not one to back away from it.
He even admitted that he would be perfectly fine with having a fight under full UFC/MMA rules.
"I would definitely give it a go. It’s something to learn, as well. I’m at that age where I’m still learning, adapting and getting better. So I still have time under me as well. I’m still a young lad and got loads left in me."
