Liverpool put Shamal George up front against Huddersfield

Published 3 Comments

Not too many Liverpool fans would have heard of young goalkeeper Shamal George before the club's pre-season clash against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium this evening.

George, 18, is a promising young 'keeper and one day may well go on to become the club's No.1.

For now, though, he is still very much learning the trade but would have been boosted by his inclusion in Klopp's squad ahead of their latest friendly.

As you can imagine, then, Liverpool fans reacted hilariously as George replaced Lucas.

George may not have been able to find the back of the net, but that didn't stop Klopp's side securing yet another pre-season win.

New signing Marko Grujic opened the scoring with a well-taken half-volley, while Brazil midfielder Philippe Coutinho failed to double the lead from the penalty spot.

Liverpool were handed a second penalty in the last couple of minutes and defender Alberto Moreno didn't disappoint as the club claimed a 2-0 victory.
